Country music icon Trace Adkins, known for his extensive career in both music and acting, has shared his wisdom with his daughter Mackenzie about the deceptive nature of Hollywood.

Mackenzie, 26, recently navigated a challenging casting process for the reality show "Claim to Fame." She revealed to her father that the initial contact came via social media, and the lengthy back-and-forth with the casting agency made her wary of the show's legitimacy.

During an exclusive Fox News Digital interview, Adkins expressed pride in Mackenzie's cautious approach. "I'm glad you've learned something. Hollywood is full of empty promises," he advised. "I've had countless opportunities that never materialized, and many of them I've forgotten."

While Adkins is celebrated for his successful country music career, he also has a notable presence in film and television. His recent role in the FOX drama "Monarch" alongside Susan Sarandon, and his past film credits such as "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "Wyatt Earp's Revenge," highlight his diverse talents.

Adkins described the common pitfalls of Hollywood, where projects often fizzle out despite initial excitement. “They promise big things, but then you don’t hear from them for months, and it just vanishes,” he said.

Mackenzie confirmed these sentiments, recalling her own doubts during the casting process. “I made sure the show was real, but after many interviews and assurances from producers, I stayed cautious,” she explained. She only informed her family a day before moving to film the show, with minimal details to share.

Adkins admitted he was initially worried about her well-being but trusted she’d be fine with the show's producers. “When she called halfway through, I was relieved,” he said.

On "Claim to Fame," contestants with famous relatives live together and try to guess each other’s celebrity connections while concealing their own. Mackenzie formed a close bond with fellow contestant Hud, and their fathers even met at the show’s finale viewing party.

Despite growing up as the daughter of a country music legend, Mackenzie felt accustomed to the lifestyle. “He’s always just been dad,” she said, reflecting on their family’s travels and her experiences on the road since birth
